About Me

Margo L. Dill is a professional writer, editor, instructor, speaker, and writing coach. She has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in elementary education. She is the owner of Editor-911 Books. 

Margo has 4 books published for children and teens (which you can find on the SHOP page), and countless articles, newspaper columns, and blog posts published. For WOW! Women On Writing, she is the managing editor, which means she works with writers and the executive editor to create each issue while also editing articles and columns. She helps judge and critique flash fiction stories and personal essays for the popular WOW! quarterly writing contests, and teaches online writing and marketing courses. 

Besides WOW!, she runs her own editing, publishing, and marketing business, Editor 911, and has a full-time "day job" as a quality assurance manager for Farm Journal. She lives in St. Louis, MO, with her daughter and Sudsi, a lab mix dog born on 1/30/2019--or so. 

I am passionate about so many things--and that's why my work doesn't seem to follow any one path or brand. But honestly, if you look closely at the themes in my books and on my blog, you will see that I do have a message that comes out in all my writing, speaking, and teaching: 

BE UNIQUE! 

BE STRONG! 

BE YOURSELF!

Each of my books (as of this writing 6/2019) has a female protagonist who is just outside the norm and trying to work through insecurities and "life" to be who she is. Yes, even Maggie Mae, my detective character--in a light-hearted way--has to show her family that she is indeed a detective and can solve mysteries. 

I would love for you to take some time to check out my blog, too, where I attempt to be honest and sincere about subjects important to us all--parenting, self-esteem, health, setting boundaries, and more--sometimes with a touch of humor and sometimes with gut-wrenching honesty.  

On the home page of this website, you can sign up for my "infrequent" email newsletter. I try to do it once a month, but sometimes run late. What I strive to do in the newsletter is give you some information that may help you in areas of your life, whether it's parenting, reading, contest opportunities, writing, or more. Yes, I add some promotional stuff in there, too, but I hope the majority of the content you find to be more than a sales pitch! 

Also, I would love to connect with you on Facebook and Instagram, where I am the most active--although I do use Twitter and LinkedIn too. I have a Snapchat account because my daughter (pictured above with our dog) loves to use the filters and send messages to my friends--who are so kind to message her back. But as for myself, I don't use it much.
