  1. Is it wrong to get my own party started? KT and I are training a puppy for one, and she is attending a lot of summer camps, which she loves. We are heading to visit friends in Champagin, hang out at Great Wolf Lodge, and go to Iowa to see JoJo Siwa (early bday present!). Plus, we will go to The Muny and Six Flags.

  2. Besides working this summer, I am going on a mini vacation to Dallas, Texas with my mom and niece. I also have plans to do a lot of local things like coney island, the zoo (with my 5 year old niece), some art museums (especially The Bushwick Collective), a sweet sixteen to attend (my niece), and hopefully another mini vacation to Baltimore Harbor!

    1. Have a great ime on your mini-vacation! We may go to Texas with a friend. I will have to work while down there, but my friends will take KT around, so it will be a win-win. 🙂 Thanks for entering the contest.

  3. Fire up that grill for tasty meals PLUS let all that fat and grease drip away for a more healthful main dish. Or grill some vegetables! Fire roasted peppers and corn are wonderful additions to recipes that you probably already use that feature veggies. Another great activity is Vacation Bible School. Kids love it. If you don’t have one in your local area, volunteer to host one! And RELAX!!

    1. Diane!
So good to hear form you. I don’t have a grill. 🙁 I will have to put that on the someday list. Katie is going to a VBS this summer at a friend’s church. What are you doing?

  4. I’m getting my new house in order and finishing book 3 in my series. Both monumental tasks..that’s why I am on here procrastinating. Ha! Love the new pup. What a cutie.

  5. Hi Margo,
This summer, I plan to spend more time with friends, establish a more regular early morning meditational time, and address some hurdles that crop up between my son and me.

I also plan to revamp my approach to writing poetry, so that I dig deeper into things that matter to me, enter into research to give a little more substance to my poems, and renew efforts to improve the diction of my poems and make them sound better.

I will practice reading my poems aloud, to prepare myself for poetry slams. I will personally reach out to more poets I know.

I will love my husband better, and not always put writing first.
    Love the work you do!
    Sincerely,
    Carole Mertz

    1. Carole:
Thank you so much. I love all these plans–it’s very balanced between professional and personal and doing somethin things for yourself. That’s all important. I hope you have a wonderful summer. 🙂

  6. After I finish teaching summer school at the end of June, I am going to Denver to help my daughter, Katie, move to Nebraska. Once I finish doing that, I’m getting married! We are spending our honeymoon visiting Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone. After I return from my honeymoon, it will be back to school time! It’s going to be a whirlwind summer!!

    1. OMG, Lynn! How exciting is this. I haven’t been keeping up on FB, but it sounds like you have an incredible awesome summer ahead of you. I hope you enjoy every minute because you deserve it. Also, good luck to Katie. Moving is no fun but I hope the move is successful and positive. Much love to you. Thank you for stopping by!

  7. This summer I am boy sitting my three youngest grandsons, ages 8, 11, and 12, two days a week. My sweet cavalier spaniel and I will continue to walk the park an hour every day. My daughter and I are going to Bermuda the first week in July. I have several half finished paintings I want to complete. Significantly, I am starting my blog ?.
Of course, I will write, write, write. Thanks for listening!

    1. Hi Janice:
Thank you for stopping by and filling us in on your summer plans. It sounds like you will be super busy. Enjoy your grandchildren and your dog. (I love dogs so much!) And enjoy that time with your daughter in Bermuda, too. I also love hearing about your plans for creativity. So important!

  8. At the moment my summer plans will go day-by-day. We’re on an RV adventure, rolling past blowing grasses, tractors, and a John Deere plant today. My husband wants to a lobster in Maine and clam chowder in Boston. On our way I hope we sell copies of Never Too Late: From Wannabe to Wife at 62, https://www.amazon.com/Never-Too-Late-Wannabe-Wife-ebook/dp/B077ZK468Y/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1541908134&sr=8-1. My husband sells well.

If there’s time I’d love to drive through New York State, take a look at Vassar 50 years after I was a student there, and maybe meet my publisher who has offices in Virginia. And that just takes us to July 2. In the midst of all this, I’m also working on the next issue of Writer Advice, http://www.writeradvice.com
